The DSG shifts faster than a human can, therefore the DSG has a faster time than the manual. This is the only plus (IMHO). The minuses are cost (both purchase price and ongoing maintenance costs). On the track, DSG is invaluable. Well when you're not going exclusively + mph, a manual can be more fun. A GTI is not a supercar.
